Moved
Moved from Xyletininae.

Tricorynus sp., probably
On the ventral shot, I think I can see the knob- to hook-like projection on the mesosternum - diagnostic for the genus. Check on the specimen, please . . .

Genus confirmed :)

i would love to get an antenna in focus
...and a clean view of the head; do i see a reddish macula on the frons?

Sure
I can definitely get a head shot but may have to detach the specimen from the point to get a clear view of the antennae.

Moved from ID Request.

anobiid, sure; in the Xyletinini

maybe?
it's hard to say from the view, without antennae. It does look somewhat like Dorcatoma, but also it reminds me somewhat of a marsh-loving beetle (Scirtidae)... anyone else?
