"The species probably cannot be determined without careful inspection. They all look extremely similar externally, and without looking at the genitalia, I probably could not say for sure. However, if I had to guess, due to the collection locality and what I can see from the picture, I would tentatively say Bothrideres geminatus. This is the only species that is common in the Eastern USA."

 
i lean towards cryptus, but i don't have a good feel of the spp.
[added] from Rick Buss: "cryptus and geminatus are the only two in MS. Karl added Mississippi in pen to my copy for cryptus. I never distinguish these two unless I can see the punctation on the interval beginning at the humerus. There seems to be little else to discriminate; cryptus punctures large and single row, geminatus punctures small and two rows. I have many specimens which seem ambiguous also."
