Beetle With A Problem - Kuschelina

Beetle With A Problem - Kuschelina
Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, USA
September 2, 2009
Size: unknown
It was stated that more pics like this were needed/desired, so I'm adding my two cents. I can't ID the beetle nor what had killed it. It was literally cemented in place like a statue by whatever was attacking it. Parasite or fungus? I think the plant is goldenrod....

Nice addition
I just stumbled on this while searching for "goldenrod beetle." I've added it to the gallery of fungus victims.

Parasite or fungus?
no 'or' in this case: let's settle for fungal parasite... or parasitic fungus, if you will :)
the beetle seems to be another Kuschelina
