Ft. Myers, FL, Lee County, Florida, USA
This photo was taken on the campus of FGCU in Ft. Myers, FL. I think it is of the genus Hypercompe. I also think it is an exotic species, having photographed a similar (if not the same) moth in Honduras.

Does anyone else think this moth looks like a frog from the side? Beautiful!

And yes, this is the same moth you saw in the Honduras.

To my knowledge this photo was taken a few weeks ago.

I'm pretty sure that's genus
I'm pretty sure that's genus Diphthera
D. festiva to be precise. It can be found all across the southern united states.

It's my favorite moth, for the time being!
