Size: about 50 mm
Probably not the best photo, but it is a beautiful creature. Was found on Brickelia. They seem picky, and Brickelia have no leaves in January here in Albuquerque, but they will eat Dandelion, Sow Thistle, Romain Lettuce and probalby related plants. Has just molted in this photo. Found them abundantly (at about 30 mm) on the same bushes September 18, 2009, so obviously they overwinter as larvae.
