Wasp, Braconidae

Wasp, Braconidae
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego County, California, USA
May 2, 2009
Size: BL~5.5-6 mm
We saw this red/black ichneumon (or Braconid?) in Plum Canyon on San Felipe Dyssodia (Adenophyllum porophylloides--Asteraceae). This seems to be a fairly common wasp on flowers from March to May. Is it possible to get it to a subfamily? I suspect a male since no ovipositor.

Braconidae.
Long face indicates Agathidinae subfamily (or however you spell it:-).

Braconidae
That's wonderful, Eric. Our first known Braconid! I noted that your book had a somewhat similar wasp. Thanks so much. I'll check into the subfamily.
