Orange-Humped Mapleworm female - Symmerista leucitys - Female
Town of Plymouth, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, USA
July 6, 1996
This female moth came to our outdoor lights on July 6, 1996; it laid about 50 eggs on July 7, 1996. They hatched on July 24, 1996. I fed them Oak (Quercus). On September 4, released many of the larvae on an Oak tree, kept six. They formed pupae on September 6, 1996, overwintered in refrigerator, and the first one eclosed on May 21, 1997.
