Orange-Humped Mapleworm larvae - Symmerista leucitys

Orange-Humped Mapleworm larvae - Symmerista leucitys
Town of Plymouth, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, USA
August 21, 1996
These are notes about these larvae from my data base: Caterpillars lived in a communal-type environment at least a month. Many times they looked like neatly stacked logs laying together. They had an invisible silky webbing that connected them together, thereby preventing them from falling out of the commune.
