UNKNOWN INSECT - LARGE MILKWEED BUG NYMPH 01.JPG - Leptoglossus

UNKNOWN INSECT - LARGE MILKWEED BUG NYMPH 01.JPG - Leptoglossus
Racoon Creek State Park, Racoon Township, Pennsylvania, USA
September 12, 2009
Size: 1/4"-1/2" long
Found on milkweed. I had originally thought this to be a large milkweed bug nymph, perhaps very early on in its life, but its so much flatter than the other large milkweed bug nymphs I encountered, which also did not have the subtle black markings at edges of abdomen. I later thought it to be an assassin, but it has black head, red eyes, and no visible piercer. Stumped.

Coreidae.
These are the nymphs of some kind of leaf-footed bug, family Coreidae, probably genus Leptoglossus. Nice shot.
