Stenomorpha mckittricki (Pierce, 1954) - Stenomorpha mckittricki - Male
McKittrick, Kern County, California, USA
February 15, 2010
Size: 16 mm
This species was first described as a fossil from the McKittrick Oilfields. Later it was found to still be living in area. It always seems to have the fine soil filling the innerspaces between the costae and the red-brown legs separate it from other species. These were active in the late afternoon. They're like little wind-up toys that never run down.
