28 species are distributed world wide, largely in the tropical and subtropical zones. Of those, only one species occurs in the Nearctic region.
Size
3.0-9.0 mm long.
Identification
Easily confused with Protofarsus. Arrhipis can be identified by its lateral ridge of the elytra terminating well before it reaches the caudad.
Range
The group as a whole can be found throughout much of the Neotropical regions including the Caribbian Islands and extending as far north as the southeastern U.S.
Habitat
Thrives in forested areas.
