Numbers
A world-wide genus with approximately 21 known species. Many are distributed in Africa and Southeastern Asian regions. Only one species in present in the Nearctic region.
Size
5.0-7.5 mm long.
Identification
Can be confused with Fornax, Onichodon and Diphytaxis. The group can be distinguished by simple elytrial epipleura and 4th tarsomere being twice as wide as the 5th.
Range
As a whole, the group is subtropical and tropical in distribution. The single Nearctic species is endemic to Florida.
Habitat
Largely found in forested areas.

Late April through the end of September.
