A heaping portion of Hemberger Heilpern... - Male Female
Fullerton Arboretum, Fullerton, Orange County, California, USA
May 9, 2009
OK, so my maiden name is "Heilpern" and I just couldn't resist making the pun...

Perhaps not a great pic of either one of us, but fortunately we did have a great time! Ron was kind enough to show me around one of his favorite stomping grounds and although the time flew by much too quickly, we did make a few lasting memories... We photographed lots of stuff whilst talking about insects and other random things. We saw some nifty schools of catfish in the pond. I even got to add a new species to my list (and to BugGuide) -- Pissonotus melanurus. To anyone lucky enough to have the opportunity, I highly recommend an afternoon spent in Mr. Hemberger's company!

Photo taken courtesy of Ron's lovely wife, Karen. We were both pretty sunburned, so I took the liberty of desaturating us in Photoshop. (Don't worry, it only sounds painful. :-)

Love it!
Thank you for posting it! The title is too perfect! I love it when things just work out that way. And Ron really does look rather Hemingway-ish! :)

And that's without my turtle neck.
.

aaaaaaaaawwwwww... that's the stuff, H&H!
to think all that was to add a black-assed pissyback to the list of your trophies...
you're burning hot, guys -- no photoshoppery could hide the screaming reality of it!
Heil Porn!
