Unknown larva - Cucujus clavipes

Size: approximately 10-12mm
Found when I peeled bark bark of an ailing hardwood tree (ash, maybe?) The tree had pretty heavy woodpecker damage.

Sorry, I thought I had in the form...it was taken today, February 21, 2010. Temperature outside is about -4C today.

I may have sharper photos of some parts...

Edited later to add: the only other half-decent photo shows the terminal segments fairly well.

I'm still learning this blasted camera.

I'm pretty sure your C. clavipes id is correct, looks bang-on, and I've seen plenty of adults around here.
