Cold Weather Moth - Acleris chalybeana

Cold Weather Moth - Acleris chalybeana
Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
January 19, 2010
Found on my snow shovel handle on a cold January night when 38 cankerworm moths and a couple of one other kind of unknown moth were out. Also, an ant, a winter-red green lacewing, a small cranefly, and a bunch of globular springtails. Quite a collection for such cold temperatures!

It was 39 degrees F out.

Looks Like 3527 - Acleris schalleriana
...frequently seen in winter in our area. (no rsvp, thanks)

maybe 3523 – Acleris cornana
I think that this one might be
3523 – Acleris cornana

That does look
very much like it. Thank you!

Appears to be a Tortricid of some kind.
I wouldn't want to hazard a more specific guess than that, but you might want to look around here while waiting for a moth expert to come along.

Thanks!
I think I got it down to Acleris, but beyond that I'm not sure.
