Black, Orange, & Red Gem - Necrophilus hydrophiloides - male

Black, Orange, & Red Gem - Necrophilus hydrophiloides - Male
Enumclaw, Forested Unincorporated King County, Washington, USA
February 27, 2010
Size: 13mm
Found this beautiful thing on the outer wall of the house in the middle of the night. Has big, orange feather feet and an amazing blood red coloration on the pronotum and outer edges of the elytra. Another thing I noticed were the rows of hairs running down the legs.
