Automeris randa - Male
Collected @ lights
~2:45 am

NOTE: Locally abundant with a relatively limited flight window! It has been my experience, this moth can be seasonally common, however, doesn't seem well represented in collections. To the best of my knowledge, there are only a few localities where it can be collected along the Arizona-New Mexico border.

USE DISCRETION: As is the case across much of the southwest "border region", know where you are and be careful while out and about ... this area is remote and notorious for potentially "shady dealings" on both sides of the border. Use extreme caution, esp. when camping & night collecting. It's also a good idea to notify authorities of your whereabouts and intent at all times (local county authorities, Rangers in the Coronado National Forest &/or Border Patrol)!!!!
