Earwig - Forficula dentata - female

Earwig - Forficula dentata - Female
Alameda County, California, USA
March 3, 2010
Size: ~3/8 in., 10 mm
Found on underside of compost-bin lid, morning. A lighter brown than the dark earwigs abundant and breeding here. Female, if I'm counting tergites correctly.

Forficulidae
In the second image, you can see the way the middle segment of the foot extends under the outer segment- sort of like baggy socks. I would guess it's a European Earwig.

This is an immature individual, with the wings still developing.
