Spider - Trabeops aurantiacus - male

Spider - Trabeops aurantiacus - Male
Gates, Gates County, North Carolina, USA
March 4, 2010
Size: 2-3mm
Very active - very tiny, found crawling on cinder block wall. BTW - In case you are all wondering about the proliferation of images I am posting from the "cinder block wall" - it is my garage. It catches sun most of the day and warms bugs quite nicely, well into the evening ...

You were correct, this is an entelegyne, but I moved it back to araneae because that's the section were the spider folk look to check new posts.

Thanks
Definitely want this little guy to be ID'ed ...

Moved from ID Request.

Looks like an immature wolf spider (lycosidae)...
...but I, personally, don't recognize what genus/species. Maybe someone else will. It looks like the palps are already swollen (as you noticed), so this must be a pretty small genus. Nice shot for such a small creature!

Thanks ...
I wanted a good face shot, but every time I got him off the wall, he became super agressive (defensive) - he even bit the sleeve of my jacket several times before I could get him back on the wall.

Interesting
Makes me even more curious about his ID.

This image reminded me of Trabeops even before
clicking image for larger view because of the posture,I also have
only seen them around this time of year.

Ah, yes!
I think you're right! I had completely forgotten about those little ones. The range fits. And to make things easy, there's only the one species (Trabeops aurantiacus).
