True Bug? Brown Stink Bug? - Chlorochroa senilis

True Bug? Brown Stink Bug? - Chlorochroa senilis
Florida Panhandle, Florida, USA
August 9, 2008

ID confirmed by D.B. Thomas
Moved from ID Request.

Did some more looking....
It resembles Chlorochroa senilis.

BugGuide has only one record (from New Hampshire), but that doesn't necessarily mean that it (or a similar species) is not found in FL. I'll bet one of the experts will let us know before too long.

Nice call Ken!
Nice call Ken!

D.B. Thomas: "Yes, Chlorochroa senilis is restricted...
"...to coastal marshes but ranges from Florida to New England."

Thanks
for pursuing this.

It does look like it.
Now we will maybe find out if it is.

Pentatomid (Stink Bug) of some variety.
Perhaps someone else will be able to give you a genus or species.
