I had a comment on my pbase site suggesting this might be Robertus riparius. Given the size, I think that's a good possibility.

Yes, Robertus, and R. ripariu
Yes, Robertus, and R. riparius seems like a good possibility. Will let you know when the package arrives.

More pictures?
Have you got a crisp ventral closeup of the spinnerets? That would help.

No ventral shots
This is in the last batch I sent to Kevin, so it should eventually get solved.

Looks interesting -- what is it? ;-)
Interesting specimens, as always, Tom! You would think that with the pedipalp having such distinctive proportions and that big coat hook that it would be possible to make a determination from your photo. Paging through Paquin & Dupérré, however, I don't see anything right off the bat. Maybe, maybe Souidas tibialis, but I don't think so, at least not yet. (The proportions are also rather similar to Diplostyla concolor, but I don't see the corresponding features.)

The problem is that I've never seen many/most of these species before and the drawings in P & D are usually ventral views; there are some lateral views, but they are not very common. Once I've seen a specimen, as you've seen, it's much easier to make the mental interpolation from one view to another, but before that, the fuzzy knowledge is just too fuzzy.

I've been busy the last few days with work and making improvements to my records database, but will get back to your remaining specimens this week!

Kevin,
I have no idea what this one is either. I just know it's one I haven't seen before. Are you ready for another shipment? This time there's a good number of specimens waiting.

..
Gladly. That's a good incentive to get caught up before they arrive!
