Moved
Moved from Spaelotis. Changed our mind - see MPG or Cornell Franclemont

Moved
Moved from Owlet Moths.

Spaelotis clandestina (Harris, 1841) - Clandestine Dart
I checked with our Natural Heritage Information Centre, and they confirmed that the only Spaelotis in Ontario is: Spaelotis clandestina (Harris, 1841) - Clandestine Dart. So, it must be it.

Something similar at MPG in

Caterpillar
Yes, it does look like a Spaelotis. I'll have to check which species occur in our area. Thanks a lot and Happy New Year!

?
Hi Ken,
I wonder why my inquiry was moved from the ID request? Is there a time limit on how long a picture can saty in queue?
Thank you,
Michael

I moved it to improve your chances for an ID.
The image sat around in ID Request for 10 days and garnered no comments. That means it's not an easy one. Our Lepidoptera experts will be more likely to encounter it here.

If you feel strongly, though, feel free to move it back. You won't hurt my feelings. :)

no problem
I was just curious if there was a time limit; now I know. A new photographic caterpillar guide will be arriving any day now, so perhaps I'll post ID myself.
Thank you,
Michael

Just to clarify...
Ten days is not a hard-and-fast limit. Some editors wait longer; some don't wait that long. The important thing to keep in mind is that just because an image has been moved doesn't mean that we've given up on identifying it.
