A Fishing Spider? - Dolomedes striatus

A Fishing Spider? - Dolomedes striatus
Pelerin, Breau Creek, Kent County, New Brunswick, Canada
March 8, 2010
Size: ~ 12-14 mm,
Could this be one of the Fishing Spiders? It was quite large and very visible on the snow...Although it was only about 4 C outside, this spider was walking on the snow and relatively active on the driveway going over the culvert on the creek at home...

Moved
Moved from Spiders. I agree with striatus for a couple of reasons 1. Range & 2. White bands seem to be more dorsal and distinct than found in triton. I found a great reference that I placed on the species page if you want to read it.

I am now thinking Dolomedes striatus...
But would love confirmation if possible...Compare with:, but then I don't even know for sure if I am in the right group!

looks good - closer than mine
I think that's a better match than my idea. Looks on the money to me. Let's see what the spider experts have to say. If nobody comments on it in Dolomedes, you can always move it back to Spiders.

Thanks Andrew!
Will leave it here a few more days then move to Spiders as you suggest...Cheers!

similar to Fishing Spider, Dolomedes triton
It sure looks a lot like Dolomedes triton. I'm not an expert, but I'm thinking that's what it might be, less the distinct spots. Let's see what others have to say.
