6873 Alien Probole - Probole amicaria

6873 Alien Probole - Probole amicaria
Bartlesville, Washington County, Oklahoma, USA
May 25, 2009
Supported as Probole alienaria by DNA barcoding match, BOLD LPOKB442-09
This specimen is shown here: BOLD:AAA5915
Found at UV light near pond in wooded area of a flood plain

Moved
Moved from Alien Probole.

P. amicaria and alienaria cannot be separated even with DNA (there is only one BIN for both). Although no peer reviewed paper has been published, it seems reasonable to assume that all North American specimens in this genus belong to a single species. Moved to Probole amicaria as it has seniority. See comments in the Moth Forums here and Remarks on the Info page for P. amicaria here.
