What in the heck is this? - Synchlora frondaria

What in the heck is this? - Synchlora frondaria
Archbold Biological Station - Lake Placid, Highlands County, Florida, USA
September 27, 2009
Size: 10mm roughly
It appeared to be some kind of (really ugly) caterpillar but it had pieces of plant stuck to its back like a green lacewing larva. It blended really well, if I was not stalking a bee on the same flower, I never would have noticed it.
