Size: 10-15mm
I found one in 9/07 in the same spot (a creek). I don't know if it's the same thing; the marks are darker.

Are you saying two species
are never found in the same stream? Unless you're just refering to populations in California I have to dispute that as I have found larvae of two species in the same stream and at the same time in New Hampshire:
