Smicronyx halophilus

Smicronyx halophilus
Middleburg, Clay County, Florida, USA
August 9, 2009
Size: 1.6mm
Collected in net sweep, late morning. There was, what some locals call Yellowtop (Possibly Flaveria lineata) in the 5 meter sweep area. S. halophilus has been collected in the county directly south of here. Difficult to see if tarsus article 5 is shorter than 1 to 3 combined, but the claws are connate at base, antenna funicle w/7 articles and there is no ventral channel for the long rostrum.
