Sphingid larva? - Euproserpinus phaeton

Sphingid larva? - Euproserpinus phaeton
Chuckwalla Valley, near Blythe, Riverside County, California, USA
March 16, 2010
It had crawled a little ways off of the sand, but the tracks led right back to this plant, which had some obvious insect foraging damage. I put it back on the leaves so I could get larvae and probable hostplant in one shot.
