Coming-Out Party For A Bark Louse - Blaste quieta

Coming-Out Party For A Bark Louse - Blaste quieta
Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, USA
March 16, 2010
Size: 3-4mm
I just happened to glance up and see this fella/gal dangling, kicking its legs. Note the molt being left behind...this was what was holding it to the oak tree. Apparently these guys go through the same routine as butterflies and moths after exiting the pupal case, waiting for the wings to fill and dry out.

WOW !
Amazing photos of such a tiny critter.

Thank you, but the truth is,
it took almost 20 exposures to produce these paltry three. And yer right, the little sucker is really little.

3 out of 20 doesn't matter
You started out with a good eye....then had the patience to take 20 photos of a 4mm max bug! So still a WOW :)

I agree
great find!
