Size: 2- 2 1/2 inches

the "electric light bug" of yore. Probably L. americanus for your area

toe biter
A true bug , family Belostomatidae, Order Hemiptera. Often referred to as toe biters or electric light bugs. They can bite via a pointy "beak." Always a cool and impressive insect to come across.
