deer tick, right? - Ixodes scapularis

deer tick, right? - Ixodes scapularis
Great Brook Farm State Park, Carlisle, Massachusetts, USA
March 20, 2010
Nothing else looks like it up here, right? So this is a deer tick? I noticed that in the guide it's called a blacklegged tick, and that it hasn't been reported from NH before. Well let me tell you that I've found them plenty of times in NH, I just haven't been quick enough to photograph them before my parents go crazy and kill them. I'll work on that.
