Syrphid Larva?

Syrphid Larva?
Lake Elizabeth, Fremont, Alameda County, California, USA
March 23, 2010
Found on Black Willow tree where a Ferdinandea sp. and a Ceriana tridens were spotted.

If it is a Syrphid larva, it is my first :)

Syrphid larva
Yes, it looks like a syrphid larva and it ressembles some of those that have been IDed as members of the subfamily Syrphinae. It doesn't look like Eristalinae; I noticed that you placed links to two members of that subfamily.
