Order Isopoda
Looks like a Woodlouse, Pillbug to me, which I guess makes it Suborder Oniscidea - Woodlouse.

Thanks Andrew
I think it looks like a pale Philoscia muscorum, with "three smaller segments (flagellae) at the end of the antenna (Ferenc Vilisics)".

Philoscia
Should be Philoscia alright and with that there is hardly a way around P. muscorum in the States or it would have to be something very excitingly exotic ;o)

The colour certainly is "interesting" though, but the species is quite variable and I've seen this colour before, but basically on youngsters. How big/small was this one?

Thanks Arp
We have a lot of P. Muscorum here, but I posted this one because I've never seen this color before. It was 7-8 mm.

Thanks Lynn ...
... that's a medium sized one then. Corresponds rather nicely with this one and others I've found in this clear hue :o) (also featured on this species collage I made some years ago)

P. Muscorum links
Hi Arp, thanks for the links to your photos. I enjoyed them very much and was surprised to see the amount of color variation.
I'll try to find some more variety here.

beyond my knowledge :-)
Philoscia definitely looks similar. That level of ID is beyond me. Did you see the giant marine isopod that got posted a couple days ago? Granddaddy to this little fella.

Giant marine isopod
Good Wikipedia article, surprised to read that they are used for food.
