Saw FLy - Dolerus nitens

Saw FLy - Dolerus nitens
Beaverton, Washington County, Oregon, USA
March 27, 2010
Size: 2 cm
This is a much clearer image of a Sawfly I contributed the other day. Perhaps easier to ID and a better specimen.

Moved
Moved from Dolerus.

Tenthredinidae, Dolerinae
Dolerus nitens - There are a lot of black Dolerus, but I can see the punctation on the thorax necessar to id this species. One of the earliest sawflies to fly in the spring. Larvae feed on grasses.

Thanks Dave
I'll go ahead and move it. I knew it was a better photo than the last!

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Maybe
Dolerus?

Dolerus indeed
