Numbers
Three species are known from the United States and Canada. All three are represented on BugGuide.
Size
Females: 3 – 6 mm; Males: 2.5 – 4.5 mm;
Habitat
All Zygoballus specimens collected by the author (jb) have been found in short, broad-leaved vegetation less than 1ft. from the ground. Z. rufipes and nervosus are often sympatric, and have been taken from clearings within mature woods. I only know Z. sexpunctatus from old field, but other BugGuide records (Gloster Arboretum) imply similar wooded habitat for that species as well.
Season
Adult males not common until late summer; longer-lived adult females can probably be found all year.
