Try to find some nymphs, they look cute. Stems are usually wrinkled or otherwise withered where they feed.

So funny that you should mention the nymphs as I actually photographed several on a large patch of
Opuntia
at the RSABG after we parted company that afternoon we spent together in June last year. (I just posted a pic
here
.) The slightly older nymphs that I photographed are not as colorful as
yours
, but still pretty nifty looking. Haven't found any nymphs yet at the BFS, but suspect they will be easy to locate in the coming months.
