Cactus Coreid on Cylindropuntia - Chelinidea vittiger
Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station, Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
March 28, 2010
Photographed on Cholla (Cylindropuntia sp.).

Nice photo of an adult, Harsi -
Try to find some nymphs, they look cute. Stems are usually wrinkled or otherwise withered where they feed.

Thanks, Hartmut.
So funny that you should mention the nymphs as I actually photographed several on a large patch of Opuntia at the RSABG after we parted company that afternoon we spent together in June last year. (I just posted a pic here.) The slightly older nymphs that I photographed are not as colorful as yours, but still pretty nifty looking. Haven't found any nymphs yet at the BFS, but suspect they will be easy to locate in the coming months.
