Seen here on bindweed, this tiny bug has a mean beak it just loves to poke at red-eared beetles.

Great series, Ron.
The shots with the blister beetles are especially compelling! Not that it makes me love them any less, but as I commented here, I can personally attest to the fact that they do seem to want to jab that beak into just about anything (even us humans) and have a go at getting a meal! Heck, they'll even try to penetrate metal! :-)

Very nice bug!
^^

Thanks. They quite impressed me.
May shoot more next time out. Think I'm done with the beetles, though. It was interesting to see the two interact.

? What's the Mirid doing to the beetle?
Any idea?
