Host plant?
Do you know the plant they are on? If not, posting a wider view of the plant might help in identifying it, which in turn can help ID the aphid species.

Flora
Something in the daisy or sunflower family, I believe.
Perhaps Packera obovata (Golden Groundel)

Carinate stem
The stem of Packera obovata is described as "carinate" (keeled) and I do see grooves and ridges on the stem in your photo, so that would be consistent with your plant ID.
