Small bee -
Hoplitis producta
-
Pulaski County, Kentucky, USA
May 12, 2007
Size: 6-7 mm
Sorry for the poor image, but hopefully its distinctive enough to get an ID to genus.
The underside of the abdomen has a large tubercle/process and the apical antennal segment is very sharply pointed/spined.

A better shot?
Can you try again? It is a valuable specimen and it would be very, very nice to have a good shot.

Done
Took a while, didn't it? :)
Unfortunately, this is the best I can do with my current setup.

Hoplitis producta producta
male
elongate conical protuberance on T2 is diagnostic for this species in the eastern USA (protuberance much shorter and not acute in the related H. pilosifrons).
As far as I can tell this is a first record for Kentucky. The bees of this state are poorly known so more images welcome!
