Small bee - Hoplitis producta - Pulaski County, Kentucky, USA May 12, 2007 Size: 6-7 mm
Sorry for the poor image, but hopefully its distinctive enough to get an ID to genus.
The underside of the abdomen has a large tubercle/process and the apical antennal segment is very sharply pointed/spined.
