Jumping spider? - Anasaitis canosa

Jumping spider? - Anasaitis canosa
Columbia, Lexington County, South Carolina, USA
April 4, 2010
Size: half inch or less
I found this small spider crawling on and behind my window shutter outside. He and my shutter are covered with pollen as the picture shows. He was black with white spots. He had two "white spots" moving up and down in front of him which I'm assuming were his pedipalps. (My eyes aren't that great, and he is quite small.) Cute little bugger.

I agree with your assessment. We'll need an expert to tell species most likely. I'd say to go ahead and move it to Jumping Spiders in a day or two if nobody else tells you more.
They are cute as spiders go :)
