Vernal pool insect, many on surface of water, visa view a water strider - Hydrometra martini
Wilton Township, Saratoga County, New York, USA
April 4, 2010
Size: ~ 1/4 inch
Inland Barrens ecosystem, vernal pools, Saratoga Sand plain/Albany Pine Bush complex.

Interesting morphology with eyes so forward, and antennae serving as 7 and 8 surface tension contacts.
