Mourning Cloak in New Brunswick - Nymphalis antiopa

Mourning Cloak in New Brunswick - Nymphalis antiopa
Pelerin, Breau Creek, Kent County, New Brunswick, Canada
April 4, 2010
Data point for New Brunswick for early April (saw one flying on March 30th, but was not able to photograph). It has been so warm here over the last few days that it is a wonder more stuff is not flying!

Very fine image, Denis
I find these tough to shoot.

Thanks Ron!
I do too and it is apparently the rare individual that allows a close approach. This one seemed very intent on drinking, so perhaps after its long winter break it was really in need of minerals. I did not bother it overlong, to be sure...Cheers!
