Range
Southeastern United States, most common in coastal plain; type specimen from Pushmataha County, Oklahoma (Essig Museum records)

Lakes and ponds with emergent vegetation
Season
New Jersey: April-July; Georgia: April-June; flies mostly in spring (1)
