based on my microscopic examination of three such specimens from same collection event and so no one-to-one photo-vouchering here. Thanks Tom.

Changed to Paratachys potomaca Erwin, 1981
based on a review of the literature and re-examination of three specimens with same collection event. One of them with separated elytra revealed markedly reduced membranous wings characteristic of P. potomaca. Also characteristic are smaller, less convex eyes and the elytra shaped more oviform with more narrowed shoulders compared to very similar P. pumilus. Known geographic range of P. potomaca is MA, MD, NC, and VA. Paratachys is a genus notoriously difficult to separate the species.
