Unfortunately this is the only shot i got and I didn't get the abdomen. But I thought someone might be familiar with him. This was bya stream at El Dorado Park.

Looks like a Scoliid wasp to me...
Maybe something in/near
Campsomeris
.
However, I could be mistaken, so please wait for other opinions.

I agree
For whats its worth, I've shot
similar wasps
at El Dorado Park last year that were ID'd as Campsomeris. I think yours is female.
