Madopterini ? - Sibariops concinnus Middleburg, Clay County, Florida, USA April 17, 2010 Size: 2.4mm
Found on a sedge grass in dry ditch. I'm throwing this in so someone can get me started on
an ID. I think it most closely resembles a Baradinae, and either Garaues or Catapastus.
There are 8 of the former and 3 of the latter in Florida. Even at 40x, I cannot discern
the claw or mandible details. The scales are recumbent latterally on the pronotum and
lengthwise on the elytra, pointing aft. No definitive sulcus on prosternum. As far as a
host, if Catapastus, I do not think there is any wild lime (Zanthoxylum) in the vicinity.
I will take dorsal and ventral photo's after I get a chance to relax the specimen and
post them later. If someone could get me started, I would appreciate the assistance.
