Water beetle? - Cercyon praetextatus

Water beetle? - Cercyon praetextatus
New Hampshire, USA
Size: 3.4 mm
Not a bad looking beetle for having been stuck in a jar with several hundred other beetles and a splash of alcohol over a year ago (most likely). I wish I'd had time to photograph him when he was alive.

Moved
Moved from Cercyon.

Hydrophilidae.
Pretty sure this will turn out to be a species of Cercyon, family Hydrophilidae.

I imagined so but wanted a knowledgeable opinion.
Thanks for suggesting.
