Large weevil - Ophryastes argentatus

Large weevil - Ophryastes argentatus
Mecca, Riverside County, California, USA
April 13, 2010
Size: 15 mm body length
Found nearly dead in a dry cement canal (my guess is that it got trapped in there and overheated). I'm having trouble finding an exact match on the guide.
