Lixus

Lixus semivittatus
I think this is Lixus semivittatus but its hard to tell without the actual specimen. Lixus perforatus and L. semivittatus are very similar (and may be the same thing?) but the former appears restricted to coastal states (and not in AZ) whereas L. semivittatus is recorded from AZ, UT, CO and Mex. Nobody has looked at the taxonomy of the species of Lixus lately and it is a big group with a lot of species and they go into Mexico and on down into tropical America.

Thank you
so I'll move it to that sp tentatively and ask CW O'Brien to look at the specimen when I get a chance (we'll start going into the field together soon again, so that's easier than sending it to you)
